Elon Musk has always been admired for his genius qualities, but after he built his empire with Tesla and SpaceX, Musk stepped out of the spotlight for a couple of years. However, he has recently made a return appearance in the headlines due to his latest endeavors, all beginning with a deal with Twitter in January of 2022.

Musk said that the acquisition of Twitter is a part of his “grander vision” of creating a super app in Western markets. His creation of PayPal, an online transaction platform didn’t quench his thirst for digital media. He strives to change the way apps are used, and he predicts that “Twitter would accelerate that by three to five years.”

The public had diverse reactions to Musk buying Twitter for $44 billion dollars. Many didn’t support him saying that it was a waste of money and that Musk should stick with the two, multi-billion dollar companies he already owns. Tesla shares have also recently dropped 11%, which led Musk to lose $200 billion dollars from his net worth. His fortune peaked in 2021 and he remained the richest person until this month after his downfall when Bernard Arnault, the French tycoon behind luxury-goods powerhouse LVMH, overtook him.

Elon Musk has many sides, but his achievements cannot be disregarded. He has received multiple awards and was named Person of the Year by Time magazine. He has left an unforgettable imprint on the world of technology and the world is waiting to see what he accomplishes next. Musk has lately seemed to be gravitating towards the Artificial Intelligence (AI) side of technology, and recently showcased “Optimus”, a humanoid robot that can walk, lift objects, water plants, and carry out a few other basic functions. His ultimate goal is to create a bot that can perform day-to-day tasks that are repetitive or unsafe for humans to do themselves. He also said, “I will not be able to ensure that robots made by other companies are safe, but I can try my best to do so at Tesla.” He wants to create a safe, powerful, and friendly robot that anyone can use in their homes. 

Musk has revolutionized the tech industry and he will continue to do so with his new inventions. He has had many roadblocks to success and made some interesting financial decisions, but he will always be remembered. You can love him or you can hate him, but you can’t ignore him.
